A large blanc de Chine figure of Guanyin. 19th century

Seated in rajalilasana on a cylindrical-shaped base incised around the sides with a herringbone pattern, stylised flowers and meander and atop an octagonal platform, wearing a necklace with a pendant in shape of a lotus and loose robes falling in graceful folds around the body, the hair dressed in a topknot secured by a hairpin, the back with the two incised marks Dehua in a double-gourd and Pu ji yuren (virtue extends to all, even fisherman).
