An ivory netsuke of a monk on a temple gong, by Kogyoku. Second half 19th century

Reading and smiling, sitting on a large mokugyo. The gong's handle carved with two dragons facing each other, their open mouths with a loose ball, their eyes of light and dark horn. The monk carved separately. Signed Kogyoku on a red lacquer tablet.
