Looking like a South-Sea islander and wearing a knee-length apron the man stands with emaciated and contorted body screaming with arms stretched above him. Inscribed Kunimitsu in a rectangular reserve. Wooden box with the sticker of the T. Z. Shiota Gallery.

Literature

Hurtig (No. 367) and Lazarnick (p. 642) illustrate an almost identical Muchojin, also called mufuku, which could have be the model for the present netsuke.
