A gift for Willy Brandt:
Silver pitcher with the Cologne coat of arms

Slender vessel with a pointed spout on an inswept oval base. Set with an ancient Roman coin depicting Emperor Constantius Chlorus (circa 250 – 306 A.D.) and engraved with the imperial eagle and the municipal coat of arms of the city of Cologne. The base dated 22.9.1973. H 22.3 cm, weight 560 g.

Given as a gift to Willy Brandt by the city of Cologne on occasion of a visit on 22.09.1973; subsequently in family ownership.
