An Antwerp inlaid cabinet

Angular box-shaped cabinet with handles on either side, inlaid with tortoiseshell, ebony, palisader and brass on a softwood core. The front fitted with twelve drawers surrounding a central mirrored niche with an ebony and ivory chequerboard inlay. The sides with two rows of four drawers with tortoiseshell fronts applied with brass tendrils. Resting on a table with six baluster-form supports hung with carved garland ornaments, the front apron with lion's heads holding rings in their mouths. The cabinet in unrestored original condition, the table altered. H cabinet 69.5, W 116, D 40.5 cm, H with stand 150 cm.
