A Baroque gaming chest with 20 game pieces

Square box inlaid with birth, amaranth, ebony, ivory and pewter on a wooden core, with wrought iron mountings. The outer part of the box with boards for chess and nine men's morris, the inside with a tric trac board and game pieces made from turned fruitwood decorated with various mottos and motifs, some commemorating the peace of Rijswijk. With conjoined monogram MB for Martin Brunner. Losses and shrinkage cracks to the veneer, the surface slightly mottled in areas. The game pieces with minor cracks and rim chips. H 11.3, W 40, D 38 cm. D of game pieces 5.5 - 5.7 cm, H 1.3 - 1.4 cm.
