A large ivory seal netsuke of a kirin. 19th century

Seated on its haunches and raising its forelegs, the mouth open and howling, large flames emanating fron the joints cover the body with large and well-carved scales. The characters at the base read takara (treasure) and kasanaru (pile up). One eye missing.
