A Berlin KPM porcelain dish from a royal dinner service

Model no. 1054. Decorated with stylised flowerhead motifs in small rectangular surrounds between blue borders. Blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark, incised III in the basal ring, gold cross painter's mark. H 6.3, D 27.4 cm.
1836.

Frederick William III gave his niece Marie Elisabeth of Prussia (1815 - 1885) a service on the occasion of her wedding to Prince Karl of Hesse-Darmstadt (1809 - 1877) on 22nd October 1836, a large part of which was auctioned by Fischer, Lucerne on 6th July 1925 as the "property of former ruling princes and their families".
