Engraved on the back of the shoulder "F. Schulze Roma 1871". H 43 cm.
Rome, Fritz Schulze, 1871.

The sculptor Fritz Schulze (Rendsburg 1838 - 1914 Munich) studied at the art academy in Copenhagen before going to Rome in 1865. Emil Wolff was committed to ensuring that his scholarship was extended. His influence is clearly noticeable in this bust.
