An alabaster relief with Jacob's Ladder, Mechelen, around 1600

Alabaster with minimal remains of former partial polychromy. Relief depicting the Old Testament scene of the sleeping Joseph dreaming of angels climbing up and down a ladder to heaven. The cartouche on the lower edge inscribed with the maker's mark "ND". Pendant to the previous lot.
With hairline cracks, wear and minor losses throughout. In a stylistically corresponding but associated frame. 9.5 x 12.5 cm (with frame 19 x 22 cm).
