A polychrome and carved wood figure of a guardian. Edo period(?)

Standing in full armour and holding a halberd with both hands, the blade with the star constellation (hokuto shichi sei), parts of the armour carved with bishamon-shokko patterns and knobs, parts of the non-exposed garment with floral patterns in gold lacquer painting, and scrolls in gold-painted appliqué on the garment borders, the exposed parts partly with overpainting. Root wood base.
