Tiziano Vecellio, also called 'l'Oratore' (1538 - 1612), was a cousin of the famous painter of the same name. He was elevated to the rank of cavalier in 1571, which may have been the occasion for a major ceramic order. As his epithet suggests, he was known for his eloquence.
