An ivory netsuke of two oni at setsubun. Mid-19th century

One oni lies prostrate on his belly and protects himself with a large straw hat against the beans thrown, while the other oni cowers above him, protectively placing his claws over his head, warding off the small beans visible at his back. Signed Hirotada in an oval reserve.
