Set of four upholstered chairs

Solid palisander, aluminium sabots, spring upholstery with Afrik and horse hair, the back with original Afrik upholstery, reconstructed cotton and silk satin cover "Les Echos". H 88, W 46.5, seat depth 43 cm.

These chairs reference a model originally designed in 1924 by Jacques Emile Ruhlmann for the restaurant Drouant in Paris that was later also used for the ocean liner Île de France and modified by numerous French designers. The variant designed by Eugène Printz (1889 - 1948) was very similar, but the back legs were straight and not curved towards the backrest.
