A pair of Dutch Delft faience "petit feu" butter dishes

Formed as buckets with original lids and snail finials. Finely painted with garlands, acanthus and chrysanthemums in famille rose polychromy. With rare black ground in the spandrels. Blue mark v on the base, 10 and 13 inside. With cracquelure and minor rim chips, the antennae of the snails are broken off. H 5.5, D 11.8 cm.
