A rare German Art Deco silver coffee service

Comprised of a coffee pot, sugar box and milk jug, the handles and finials of wood. H coffee pot 18.5 cm, total weight 514 g.

Robert Fischer worked for Wilhelm Binder and H. J. Wilm in Berlin, among others, was head of the fine metalworking class at the Kaiserslautern artisans' school in 1929/30 and became workshop manager at Ernst Tresch in Leipzig the following year. In 1932 he founded his own workshop in Schwäbisch Gmünd and was head of the design class for gold and silversmiths at the local technical school until 1941. Works by the artist, who died young, are rarely found on the market today.
