A Hanau faience jug with "hausmaler" decor

Two scenes over iron-red acanthus leaves and rocailles: The flaying of Marsyas and Diana appearing before the Satyr. Incised C and a large iron red M to the unglazed base. Crazed, glaze imperfections due to ash, a small glaze chip to the lower handle. With pewter lid H 29.3 cm.
Mid-18th C., the painting in the manner of Franz Ferdinand Mayer Pressnitz/Prísecnice.
