Of irregular shape on a low and wide foot, painted in iron-black with dots and keyfret-type patterns on engobe reserved from the dark gray glaze. Wooden box, the lid inscribed Oribe in silver lacquer, and a paper label to the box reading Kuro-Oribe chawan and a seal.
