A rare Höchst porcelain figure of Harlequin with a glass and bagpipes

Smoothed base with incised mark HN. The horns and ears of the goat and a chip to the pipe of the bagpipes restored. H 15.3 cm.
Electoral Mainz Manufactory Höchst, around 1750 - 53.

Like the Frankfurt model of Harlequin with a pointed hat and goat skin, this Höchst model is also based on a sculpture modelled for the first time by Johann Joachim Kaendler for the Meissen manufactory in around 1740.
