Magnus Rommel

Two Still Lifes with Wine and Beer Glasses, Oysters and Smoking Utensils

Gouache on paper, mounted on card. Each 20 x 15 cm.
Framed under glass.
Both signed and dated lower right: Rommel 1731.

Very little is known about this talented artist, who is thought to have come from Sweden. Drawings by him have appeared on the auction market, especially views of Nordic cities. The two signed and dated gouaches presented here can be counted among the best that have survived from his hand.
