A Swabian carved limewood figure of a praying man, around 1500

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. With older polychromy. Depicting a man with his hands clasped in prayer behind a shrub in which the truncated arm and sleeve of a further figure are concealed. Presumably a fragmentarily preserved donor portrait from a larger relief.
Wear with minor losses. A small breakage and a drilled hole to the lower centre. Height 24.5 cm, depth 6 cm.
