Italy, late 17th / 18th C.

Ebony and ebonised wood, softwood, walnut, glass panels painted on reverse in opaque and transparent pigments, ormolu and wrought iron mountings. With three rows of two drawers inset with reverse glass paintings showing Mediterranean harbour cities, including Naples, in ripple moulded surrounds. Associated table, the back stretcher broken. Minor losses to the locks, one pane on the lower right cracked. H 74.5, W 120, D 36.5 cm. On an associated stand with three drawers and six barleytwist column supports, H 84, W 122, D 54 cm. Total height 158.5 cm.
