The manufactory received the commission in 1845, and production continued until 1847. The king had similar services for each of his palaces, namely the Tuileries, Château de Fontainebleau, Château d'Eu, and for the pavillon at Breteuil im Château de Saint-Cloud, whereby each service bore a differing palace mark.
