Model no. 189. Dinner plate decorated with finely painted flowers. Blue sceptre mark. A chip to the basal ring. D 26.4 cm.

Born in The Hague, Ernst Heinrich August de la Motte Fouqué (1689 - 1774) was a close confidant of King Frederick II since his time as crown prince. He accompanied the king until his death in 1774, with only a brief interruption when de la Motte Fouqué was in Danish service. Lempertz has already auctioned off several pieces from the dinner service that Frederick II ordered for his friend as one of the first gifts from his porcelain manufactory in December 1766.
