Part of Cologne's city history for 225 years

To mark the 225th anniversary of Lempertz, Mayor Henriette Reker invited guests to a reception at City Hall. The Hanstein family and members of the management signed the City of Cologne's guest book.

Ms Reker emphasised that Lempertz is an important institution in the art world, embodying a passion for art that has been passed down through generations. She sees the family and entrepreneurial success story of the house as a contribution to the cultural and artistic development of the city of Cologne. She expressly emphasised Lempertz's commitment to enhancing Neumarkt, such as the installation of Auguste Rodin's bronze statue of Honoré de Balzac, which has been on Neumarkt since May 2022.
