A rare dish with a portrait of Charles XIV John of Sweden on horseback. The border decorated with symbols of the Royal Order of the Seraphim. Signed in gold to the reverse: "R. Asel". D 22.4 cm.
Painted by Gotthelf Rudolf Asel (1816 - 1851) after a portrait by Fredric Westin, the porcelain possibly Russian.
