Relief, Holz, ältere Fassung

A late 15th century carved wood relief of the Circumcision, probably Central German, made of one piece of wood. In a semicircle niche with late-gothic architectural elements and three baldachins, the infant Christ is depicted in the centre on an altar. He is accompanied by the Virgin, Joseph and priests as well as men and women forming a symmetrical, but dynamic figural composition.
Minor wear. 44 x 35 x 7 cm.
