Holz, wohl orig. Fassung, Plinthe in der Mitte zweigeteilt

A Lower Rhenish wood high relief group of the Visitation, late 15th century, probably oak wood, the reverse flattened. Large remains of original polychromy. The group formed as silhouetted relief depicts the encounter of the Virgin with Elizabeth, kneeling in adoration. Probably from an altar with a depiction of the life of the Virgin.
Hands of the Virgin and arms of Saint Elizabeth missing. The plinth broken in the middle. 33 x 38 x 6 cm.
