Bronze. Height 34.5 cm. On cast-with plinth (1.3 x 6.5 x 9.3 cm). Monogrammed 'A' (in a circle) back left of plinth. Probably one of very few exemplars (the catalogue raisonné from 1971 lists only one exemplar belonging to the artist himself). - Inscribed "Inv No. 9." in black underside of figure. - Even, dark brown patina, some lighter areas and with reddish tinge.

Agricola was, for a few months, a student of Gerhard Marcks at the Burg Giebichenstein Halle and was recommended by Marcks himself to Richard Scheibe in Frankfurt. In the 1950s a formal influence of Gerhard Marcks is noticeable in his art.
