A raised relief portrait bust of a young man in profile facing left on a smooth ground. Signed to the reverse: "J. GOTT. FT." The English sculptor Joseph Gott was a pupil at the Royal Academy in London. Although he lived in Rome from 1830 onwards, he continued to successfully take part in the London Academy exhibitions.
With minor wear. Mounted into a frame.
