Bronze, painted height approx. 183 cm, on bronze plinth height 4 cm, total height approx. 187 cm. The plinth monogrammed 'Ml (ligated)' lower right. Artist's cast aside from the numbered edition of 6 bronzes. - Minor traces of weathering.

“The pairs of opposites with which Lüpertz works become particularly clear in the […] Apollo. Although here again the artist took up the classical contrapposto, and hence a classical motif, but he did not execute it according to that canon (the thigh is turned inwards and not outwards, the body's centre of gravity is too low). The form also deviates from the ideal of classical beauty, giving the work almost caricature-like traits.
