A probably Bavarian group of the lamentation of Christ, circa 1490

Wood carved in the round, lower part of reverse flattened, remains of former polychromy. The group with Christ comprised of the Virgin, Joseph of Arimathea and Mary Magdalene, the base with rocky attachment carved seperately (probably 19th century).
Feet and right hand of Christ and the hands of Mary Magdalene added. With minor wear. 25.5 x 37 x 18 cm (with base).
