A Royal Worcester soup tureen made for the Sultan of Oman.

Inscribed "Prince Regent entering Muscat Cove" and "Virginia Water". With a crescent moon coat-of-arms to the lid. Red stamped mark "Flight, Barr & Barr Worcester & Coventry St. London" to the inside of the lid. The lid restored. H 27, W cm.
Royal Worcester, Flight, Barr & Barr, probably ca. 1837.

The tureen was probably a present from the English King William IV to Said bin Sultan Al-Said, the Sultan of Muscat and Oman (1790 - 1856).
