A stained ivory netsuke of the Seven Gods of Good Luck in a phoenix boat, by Ryûchin. Mid-19th century

The boat with a fully blown sail surrounded by foaming waves with a tiny minogame, with Jurôjin and Fukurokuju at the bow, Daikoku and Ebisu displaying a scroll at the back and the other three gods seated on the other side, while a tiny crane stands on Hotei’s bag. Signed Ryûchin with kaô in a tanzaku-shaped reserve.
