A very good Nagoya school cherry wood netsuke of a kirin, by Masayuki. Second half 19th century

Reclining, the head with a very short horn lowered and turned back, the long bushy tail slung to the side, the thin flames emanating from the joints placed over the finely rendered fur. Signed Masayuki in an oval reserve.
