A very good Nagoya school cherrywood netsuke of a kirin, by Ittan. Mid-19th century

Reclining with forelegs raised, the two-horned head turned back and the long tail slung to the side, while very thin flames emanate from the fore joints. Signed Ittan and seal Ittan.
