Prince Alfred Candidus Ferdinand of Windisch-Grätz (Brussels 1787 - Vienna 1862) was an Austrian field marshall and was responsible for the surpression of the 1848 Pentecost riots in Prague as commander of this city.

Provenance

Formerly the collection of Alfred von Strasser-Sanczi, Vienna. Purchased in the 1990s by Henninger-Tavcar art dealers, Pforzheim. - Private collection, Rhineland.
