A 17th century Italian alabaster figure of St. George.

The reverse flattened. Minor remains of former partial polychromy. A figure of the holy knight upon his rearing horse, driving his lance into the mouth of the dragon. The small, partially openwork figure is firmly mounted to a tall, moulded socle of the period.
The upper section (the head, arm and robe) broken and reattached. Wear with minor losses. Height 31 cm (with socle).
