Bronze Height 13.5 cm Mounted on a dark marbled stone base (5.8 x 7.2 x 5.3 cm). Monogrammed 'RS' on the back of the left hind paw and with the foundry mark "NOACK BERLIN" on the bottom of the right hind paw. - With even, light brown patina.
This older version of a young bear served as the prize of the Berlin Film Festival in the 1950s. From 1960 onwards, the other better known model, the small 1956 "Berliner Bär" (Berger/Ladwig 218; Buhlmann 227), was chosen (cf. Ursel Berger/ Günter Ladwig (ed.), Renée Sintenis, Das plastische Werk, Berlin 2013, p. 145).
