A rare Meissen porcelain model of five putti grouped around a memorial. Blue crossed swords mark with dot. Parts of the floral garland lost, the putto in the purple cloth reattached and with a restored arm and wing. H 14 cm.
Ca. 1770.

The similarity of the figural bust to the recorded portraits of Princess Maria Josepha of Saxony (later the Dauphine of France) allows for the speculation that this little group was made in memory of her death in Versailles in 1767.
