Cologne circa 1880/1890

Two Cologne carved limewood figures of angels.

Worked in several blocks and glued together, carved in the round. With original polychromy, possibly overpainted to the wings.. The adoring angels are shown standing on plinths. The works display particularly fine and well preserved original Neogothic polychromy.
One very small breakage to the reverse of one plinth, otherwise in good condition. Height each 112 cm.
