A large black lacquer zushi with the represenation of the Hokkekyô mandala. 18th century

A large black lacquer zushi with the representation of the Hokkekyô mandala with an Ittoryôson group of two Buddhas and a tablet with the invocation "Nanmu myôhô rengekyô", the other figures are Daikoku and Kichijôten, Aizen Myôô and Fudô Myôô, the Four Heavenly Guardians, Monju Bosatsu on his lion and Fugen Bosatsu on his elephant. The figure of Priest Nichiren is missing. All of wood, some of them laquered and gilded, the others painted with pigments. Chiseled and gilded copper fittings. 18th century.
