A Sinotibetan gilt bronze figure of Shadakshari Avalokiteshvara. 18th century

Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, the primary hands folded in front of the chest and the secondary hands holding a beaded mala and lotus, clad in a diaphanous dhoti and adorned with jewellery and a tiara inlaid with semi-precious stones, the hair piled into a high chignon surmounted by the head of Amitabha. The base sealed and incised with a double vajra. 18th century.
