A Bern silver medallion commemorating the Silesian Wars.

A hollow medallion containing a folded paper series of 39 double-sided copperplate engravings depicting battles from the Silesian Wars and a portrait of Frederick II after a painting by Antoine Pesne. The medallion recto with a portrait of Frederick II and verso with a depiction of a seated Genius inscribed "VERITATIS PARADOXA", dated 1759. The engravings partially faded, the descriptions foxmarked, a minute loss to the edge of the lid. The medal Bern silver, marks of Johann Melchior Mörikofer, 1759; the screw mountings Augsburg, Jakob Langenbucher; the engravings Augsburg, Bartholomäus Hübner after drawings by G. Eichler, ca. 1760.
