A Schweinfurt silver gilt beaker for the shoemaker's guild

Engraved to the underside with the guild's sigil and owner's name "Thomas Schäffer", dated 1741. H 9.5 cm, weight 176 g.
Marks of Johann Georg Vogt, ca. 1700.

A communion jug, chalice and paten by this maker can be found in the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Rüdenhausen. Scheffler mentions a chalice dated 1740 made for the barrel maker's guild in the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Schweinfurt.
