Literature

A very similar rococo mirror ascribed to Brunswick is listed in cat.: Braunschweiger Rokoko, Brunswick 2005, no. 60. It is not entirely certain from where these painted German carvings of the late 18th century originate. An ascription to Brunswick is plausible, as this city is known to have been an important centre for lacquer work, but it is not the only possibility.
