A 13th century Limoges enamel Corpus Christi

Cast, engraved and chased copper with enamel and remains of gilding. A figure of Christ crucified with four nails, the reverse hollowed out, His crowned head bowed to one side and His arms horizontally outstretched. The legs are held parallel with the knees bent and the feet resting on a subpedaneum. The vertical folds of the knee-length perizonium are decorated with enamel inlays.
The fingers lost, the tips of the crown bent, losses to the enamel. Height 16.5 cm, width of arms 10 cm.
