A North Italian carved bone group of the Adoration of the Christ Child, first half 15th century

Remains of former partial polychromy. Carved from three pieces. The centre shows the Virgin standing in an architectural setting, presenting the Child to a kneeling man. The scene is flanked by two tower-like motifs and could originally have formed part of the decorative mountings of a casket.
Minimal wear. Mounted with nails to a velvet covered wooden panel. 8.5 x 9 cm.
