A Goan ivory figure of the Virgin on the crescent, 17th-18th century

Carved in the round. Extensive remains of the original partial polychromy. A richly clothed figure of the Virgin at prayer on the original plinth with foliate clasped volutes.
With vertical hairline cracks and yellowing. Height 18.5 cm (with plinth).
