A wakizashi, blade length 49.4 cm, shinogi zukuri, hamon: suguha and toran, boshi: ko-maru and kaeri asai, mokume-masame hada, nakago: ubu, mei: Shimosa no Kami Fujiwara Kuniyoshi. Gilt-copper habaki with yasurime. 17th century. Shirasaya. Very good state of polish. Tokubetsu Hozon certificate of the NBTHK dated 1993.
Koshirae: Iron tsuba, maple leaves on rafts with gold-nunome, fuchi-kashira showing courtiers on a beach in iroe-takazôgan on shakudô-nanako, inscribed Sôheishi Sôten, menuki: fish and water plants in shakudô and gold, kozuka: courtiers in Mino-Gotô style, iron blade, kôgai: dragon and ken sword in shakudô-nanako, brown binding over same, saya: on roiro ground samurai in front of a courtain under a blossoming cherry tree. 19th century.
